The Beginning of Relationship

John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
I think that this is a great place to start looking at relationship because you can't have relationship without JESUS. See, we like to think that we are fine on our own, but we are not fine. We cannot make anything better. But God can.
We need to realize this. Way too often we miss the whole thing of what being a "Christian" is. Being a Christian is NOT about what church you belong to or what you do on the day you go to church. No, being a Christian is much more than that. It's about having a one-on-one relationship with the creator of the world.
A book and a movie recently challenged me to think about that relationship. That was The Shack. In that book, the man's wife referred to God as Papa. You can't refer to anyone this way without knowing them intimately. This is and should be our deepest desire. Our desire should be to know Him and do the things that He would have us do (not so much what we want to do). He is the one that needs to run our lives.
The last verse says that the truth comes to light through our deeds and the fact that they have been done in God. This means that our relationship is so strong that He is leading us every step of the way.
Are you living a life that is rule based because your church says that you have to do certain things. Or are you living a life that is God based and the only purpose that you are living is to make Him happy. Let me tell you, that is where we need to be. We need to be making sure that we are putting God first in everything that we do.
Think about that...
Until next time...

What Do I Want to Accomplish?

I have found that life is funny. Now, you may be thinking that is a dumb statement. But I feel that we cannot overstate that. Life is crazy and funny. But what we need to be worrying about the most over all of the things that we can worry about is the fact that we need to have a real relationship with God our Father through Jesus Christ.

Now, our relationship with God should be the most important relationship that we have. In my blog, I want to show how we need to put that relationship first, and how God calls us into this relationship by giving us a relationship with Jesus.

I hope that you enjoy this time that we get to spend in thought and the Word of God.
